I am an excellent and flexible tutor with many years of experience, a proven track record, and phenomenal references. I specialize in particularly difficult or advanced high school and undergraduate studies in the areas of math and science. I also specialize in preparing students for the SAT, PSAT, ACT, GRE, and MCAT. I have scored a 36 on the ACT and a 171 on the LSAT. I believe that I am a particularly effective tutor for several reasons. --I adjust my technique to each student, and am able to explain complex problems in several different ways. In short, I am a dynamic and skilled communicator. --I focus on developing a strategic gameplan for each student that is tailored to his or her skills, needs, and goals. Each and every student is different, and I am capable of adapting my methods to fit the student. --I maintain communication with students, parents, and in some cases teachers, because I believe we are all partners in the students' success. I have been tutoring on and off for the past 20 years, and consistently for the past 10 years. I was a National Merit Scholar in 1998, and had full tuition scholarships for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I was also a recipient of the prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship in 2003. I am currently a professor of engineering at a local private university. I am passionate about quality tutoring because it is the most effective way for students to hit goals in classes and test preparation exams that may seem daunting and unreachable at first. Through tutoring, I have been able to encourage my students, instill self-confidence in them, and be a part of the team that allows them to achieve their dreams. It is no wonder that I truly love my job.
