I am Nationally Board Certified Teacher with 18 years teaching experience in the WCPSS elementary classroom. Completing the National Boards is rigorous. It involves proving your teaching ability and the impact you have on students both writing and on video. It also includes a content exam in which you prove your knowledge base and lesson planning skills. I was also awarded Teacher of the Year at Green Hope Elementary in 2009. I have tutored in the Apex/ Cary area since 2010. I am especially successful at improving confidence, improving reading skills and improving writing skills in young learners.

Hobbies
I am currently writing and illustrating a series of humorous children's picture books with corresponding activity books. These stories have been developed during my teaching career to aid children in learning academic and social skills. I visit many schools as an author/illustrator and have an interactive program for the students. I use my stories, drawings, and humor to help children learn in a fun and entertaining way.
